Since putting the trip’s false start(s) behind us, in the last day and a half we’ve been doing a lot of walking, thankfully not much getting lost, and have been seeing a lot of the sights.

Departing
It begins… Sydney ✈ Singapore ✈ London
The Wrath of Wuhan
Apologies for the lack of posts, but the last few days haven’t been the most blog worthy. Well, actually there are plenty of stories, just not so many good ones – but you’ve got to take the good with the bad I guess.
Things to do in Chengdu
Having spent the last few days in Chengdu, here are some suggestions of how to entertain yourself, based purely on my recent experiences. As the photo suggests, there may be some cuteness involved.
Beijing, blue skies and a birthday
Apologies Beijing, I may have been a little harsh on you. Yesterday was rather windy, which meant that by the end of the day the haze gave way to a clear blue sky. And again this morning as we were leaving it was perfectly clear. So, let’s just say there are good days, and no so good days.
Dreamer Festival
Disclaimer: This photo is not of us playing. Nor is it even the stage we played on. I just thought it looked good.
A Hazy Shade Of Spring
As usual, this blog is only getting updated because I’m travelling again. Unusually (and sadly), Holly’s not with me on this trip, however I have received her blessing to blog anyway (and Holly, since I don’t have the luxury of you reading these before they go live, I’m fully prepared for comments pointing out any problems with my writing). So, here I am in sunny hazy Beijing.
One last sunset…
…and one last cocktail.
It’s our final night in Vietnam. Tomorrow we’ll leave Phu Quoc and head to Ho Chi Minh City, and then this time tomorrow we’ll then be on a plane back to Sydney.
Phu Quoc
Today, after a bleary eyed start and two flights, we’ve traveled from one end of Vietnam to the other. We’re on the island of Phu Quoc, south of the Mekong Delta, over near Cambodia. After the amount of to-ing and fro-ing we’ve done over the last few days, one of the most exciting things about being here is the prospect of being in the one place for more than one night.
Another day on the bay
Today brought to a close our time on Halong Bay. The clear skies that greeted us this morning were very welcome compared to the haze of yesterday (though the sunshine did result in both of us getting rather burnt), and after a leisurely breakfast we set off to visit one of the fish farms we’d seen yesterday.
